Welcome to the George Ellery Hale Middle School's Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) and SAS (School for Advanced Studies) Home Page December 2009 Information for the Central Cities Gifted Children's Association Conference on 9 January 2010 is attached. Remember to send in your registration early to take advantage of the Early Bird Special (see attachment IMG_0003). Or, go to links and click on the link for this conference. The early bird registration has been extended until 18 December 2009. November 2009 If your child in visual arts, please see the attached flyer for the Gifted Magnet at Fairfax High. Be certain to return your application before the deadline stated in Choices. This year the deadline is 18 December 2009 (see attachment IMG_0008). September 2009 Lending Library Now Available in J194 (by appointment) We have many new and amazing books in the gifted library located in my classroom (J194). I will be there sixth period on Tuesdays and Thursdays (other days I will be in the main office during sixth), and I will stay until 3:30 (at least) on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. There will be a checkout list for borrowing books. This lending library is open to parents and teachers. Please call or email before visiting. Barbara Wexler GATE / SAS Coordinator GATE / SAS Parent Meeting at Hale Middle School We will be having an SAS and GATE meeting for parents before classroom visitations during Back-to-School Night in October. The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the MPR. Adults only, please.
